Dark Mode™ Eyewear Collection
Enable dark mode anywhere. Instantly. On any environment, any surface, any social situation. No software update required.
Engineered for Darkness
Every component of the Dark Mode frame system has been designed toward a single outcome: immediate, total, full-environment dark mode activation.
Infinite Contrast Ratio
Our proprietary polarized lens substrate delivers a measured contrast ratio of ∞:1 against unfiltered ambient light. True blacks. No backlight bleed. No eye strain from overexposed environments.
Instantaneous Response
Zero-latency dark mode deployment. Frame-on equals dark mode enabled. No buffer period, no fade, no toggle delay. From full exposure to full darkness in under 40 milliseconds — faster than any display on the market.
Full Viewport Protection
Standard lenses cover 98.4% of the human visual field. Enterprise Edition extends coverage with wrap-around lens geometry, eliminating peripheral light leakage entirely. No bright edges. No overflow.
Universal Environment Support
Dark Mode works on every surface type: offices, outdoor spaces, family dinners, fluorescent-lit supermarkets, beaches, dashboards, conference rooms. Cross-platform from day one.
"We spent three years asking why dark mode was confined to screens. The answer, it turned out, was a failure of imagination."— Dark Mode™ Design Philosophy, 2024 Annual Report
Material Specifications
The frame is the hardware. The lens is the operating system. Both are non-negotiable.
Deep-Cast TAC Polarized
Seven-layer polarized film stack. UV400 broadband filtering. The filter doesn't merely reduce light — it selectively eliminates the wavelengths responsible for eye fatigue, harsh reflection, and the general visual unpleasantness of being outdoors during daylight hours.
Matte Acetate / Titanium Core
Italian acetate sheet, hand-pressed. Titanium reinforcement at hinge points for zero-flex deployment. The dark colourway is not applied — it is inherent to the material. It will not fade, chip, or compromise. Unlike most dark modes, this one is permanent by default.
Visible Light Transmission: 8%
Category 4 tint — the darkest classification recognized by the International Commission on Illumination. At 8% VLT, the environment does not merely appear darker. It appears as it truly is, without the noise of excessive brightness that human visual systems were never designed to process.
Spring-Loaded Deployment
Barrel hinge with 45° over-extension tolerance. Dark mode deploys the moment the temple arm clears the ear. There is no intermediate state. The system is on or off. This is, in our view, the correct design philosophy for any toggle.

As Seen On Faces
Experiences from customers who have integrated dark mode into their daily environment.
★★★★★
I work in an open-plan office. The overhead lighting is aggressive, the screens are bright, and my colleagues have not yet discovered the concept of the inside voice. I enable dark mode on arrival and disable it only when I leave. My productivity has increased. My colleagues believe I am mysterious. Both outcomes are acceptable.
M. Okafor — Senior Engineer, Financial Services. London.
★★★★★
I purchased the Pro edition for a hiking trip in New Zealand. The terrain was beautiful. The sun was relentless. I enabled dark mode at 7:00am and did not disable it until 8:45pm. Fourteen hours of continuous dark mode. Zero headaches. I have since enabled dark mode in my home kitchen, which my partner finds puzzling, but the overhead lights in there are genuinely unreasonable.

★★★★☆
We purchased 47 units of the Enterprise Edition for our development team. Deployment was straightforward — each unit arrived pre-configured for immediate activation. The engraving is clean. My one note is that several engineers have now refused to disable dark mode during video calls, which has created some friction with the design team. Four stars. Would deploy again.

Frequently Asked Questions
Answers to the questions we receive most often.
Does dark mode work indoors?
Yes. Dark Mode is a full-spectrum, environment-agnostic solution. It functions indoors, outdoors, in low-light situations, and in conditions of extreme brightness. The lens does not distinguish between environments. It simply activates. Some indoor environments — particularly those with aggressive overhead fluorescent lighting — are, in our assessment, among the most compelling use cases.
Can I disable dark mode temporarily?
Yes. Dark Mode deactivates entirely by removing the frames from your face. The toggle is physical, immediate, and requires no confirmation dialog. Re-enable by putting them back on. This on/off mechanism is, frankly, more reliable than most software implementations we have reviewed.
Is dark mode compatible with other modes — reading mode, focus mode, night mode?
Dark Mode is fully compatible with all other concurrent modes. It does not conflict with reading glasses (standard frames accept prescription inserts on request), it does not interfere with headphone use, and it has no known incompatibilities with hats, hoods, or any other personal equipment. It is, by design, additive.
My environment is already quite dark. Will dark mode still function correctly?
Dark Mode will activate regardless of ambient conditions. In already-dim environments, activation will be noticeable. We recommend Standard or Pro editions for daytime and transitional use; the Enterprise Edition, with its 100% peripheral coverage, is best suited for high-brightness environments. For environments that are already very dark, we would note that dark mode is still technically functioning — you are simply operating at the lower end of the contrast range. This is not a defect.
What is the battery life?
Dark Mode requires no power source. The lens substrate is passive — it filters light through physical polarisation and absorption rather than active electronics. There is no battery. There is no charge cycle. There is no subscription. Dark mode activates when you put the frames on and deactivates when you take them off. This has been the operating model since the first day of production and we do not intend to change it.
Is there a trial period?
We offer a 30-day home trial on Standard and Pro editions. If dark mode does not perform as described — if environments fail to become darker upon activation, if the contrast ratio is not measurably improved, or if the frames otherwise fail to function as a dark mode toggle — return them for a full refund. In seven years of operation, we have processed eleven returns. In nine of those cases, the customer re-ordered within 30 days.
